Electric, Cable and Pedestals
by admin
This machine goes to each site and buries the cable for the electricity and cable TV. Once the wiring is down, the electricians come in and install the pedestals on each site. Each lot will have 50 amp service.

Pump House
by admin
Here you can see the pump house being built for our two wells. We "struck gold" with our well drilling - the water is clear with no rust or nitrates. We will use one well for irrigation and the other will be for potable water for the individual sites. We will start pumping water early next week.

Concrete Pads
by admin
Here you can see the concrete pads being poured for the lots in Phase I. Each pad is 10' wide by 34' long including a 8' by 16' patio area.

Today we also started the drilling for the well. Soon we'll have water at the sites, which will make it much quicker to water all the new trees.

This trench is for the sewer line connecting to the new clubhouse. Two weeks from now the resort will look drastically different! Check back for regular updates to watch our progress.

Tree Planting
by admin
We're planting two evergreen trees on each individual lot. The trees we are using are the white spruce and the Norway (also known as "red") pine. Minnesotans may recognize the Norway pine as it's the state tree. All of the trees are over 20 feet tall and come from a local tree farm. The tree farm uses a specially designed "tree-truck" that digs a 4 foot hole, then comes back loaded with a tree and plants it in the hole. The entire process is impressive to watch - no shovels required. When finished, we'll have more than 200 evergreen trees on our property that will really enhance the look of the resort.

Breaking Ground

Here you can see the installation process for the electrical wiring. All of our sites will have full hook-ups (that means water, sewer and electric for you rookies) and 50 amp service.

This shot is taken from the future clubhouse, with your back to the front entrance. You're looking down a valley of where our large water ponds will go, with a small land bridge joining the 2 sides. Once the water is in we'll add fountains as well.

Here you can see the mounds of Class 5 getting ready to be spread. Class 5 is a mixture of clay and rock gravel that compresses on top of the soil to provide a steady foundation for the asphalt. When you're driving a 45,000 lb. rig, the last thing you want to worry about is sinking into soft ground.

Here's the main entrance ... you can see it didn't look very impressive when we started. We're putting in extra-wide lanes for the entrance lined with boulders. The middle portion is where we're going to have our flagpole with a huge American flag, because nothing says you're home like seeing the red, white & blue of Old Glory rippling in the wind.
